RECORDING AVAILABLE: Ethics Talk Live: Are we prepared for an increase in whistleblowing reports?

March 23 · Virtual from HELSINKI

 15-15.45 EET

Michaela Ahlberg, Jennie Nilsson and Karin Henriksson will share their wisdom on whistleblowing together with Anna and Niina.

Our NBE data indicates that employees are much more prone to speak up than 2-3 years ago. The shift is dramatic and younger employees are very likely to draw a line when they witness something unethical and/ or against their values.

With new regulations, mandating companies to implement channels and maybe even normalising whistleblowing, we could see a dramatic increase in reports. Larger companies are more used to handling whistleblowing reports, even if we see big scale scandals originating from badly managed cases. We know employees are prone to go externally if dissatisfied with how their report has been managed. Is it even realistic to assume that smaller/ mid sized organisations are capable of handling reports. What about the “national reporting” mechanisms, what will these lead to?
