Join us for a hybrid breakfast event focused on advancing sustainability amidst regulatory and political uncertainty. Hosted by the Nordic Business Ethics Initiative and DLA Piper Finland, this event aims to connect experts working with ethics & compliance programs and sustainability.

- The impact of the EU Omnibus Regulation, designed to reduce administrative burdens and reporting requirements across multiple pieces of legislation, particularly in sustainability reporting and due diligence. We are still waiting for the outcome of the Omnibus.
- The evolving approaches to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) in the US, where some major companies are reconsidering and cancelling their DEIB programs and initiatives.
These topics are crucial as businesses navigate evolving regulations and societal expectations.

Experts speaking at the event

For the last 30 year Pontus has practiced law in different fields. After court service, he has practiced in different law firms in the field of business law and commercial disputes. Pontus joined the Stora Enso Group in 2007, where he during the last 10 years has been building up the Group’s global ethics and compliance program and organization. An organization that today employs about 10 FTE.
Pontus has now left the ethics and compliance function and recently been appointed SVP, Legal in the Forest Division. On top of this he will also lead the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) on Group level.

Salla’s practice includes capital markets, public takeovers and other domestic and cross-border M&A transactions involving both public and private corporations. She is also experienced in advising on, and negotiating venture capital and private equity transactions.
Salla has in-depth knowledge of corporate governance and compliance. She is experienced in advising clients in various ESG matters such as, business and human rights. Salla represents our Nordic offices in DLA Piper’s Sustainability and Environmental, Social and Governance steering group. She is also Helsinki office’s responsible pro bono partner and representative of Iris, DLA Piper’s LGBT+ network.
