Nordic Business Ethics survey 2020 Launch

October 1st · 16.00-18.00 EEST · Live Stream FROM HELSINKI

We are proud to launch the Second Edition of the Nordic Business Ethics Survey in a live stream event, chaired by André Noël Chaker, one of the leading business speakers in Finland. During the live stream, the founders of the Nordic Business Ethics Network, Anna Romberg and Niina Ratsula will introduce the key results of the survey. The presentation will be followed by a keynote presentation by the former Enron CFO, Andy Fastow who addresses the question on why ethical failures keep happening in organizations. After the presentations, André will facilitate a discussion with Andy, Anna and Niina to reflect the topic of the day. Participants online can join the discussion by sending out questions and comments.

Nordic Business Ethics Survey, originated in 2019, looks into employee perceptions of ethics at work. The ambition with the survey is to advance the dialogue around ethical culture and ethical leadership within the Nordic workplaces.

The Enron scandal, publicized in 2001, is one of the largest ethical failures on corporate conduct, at all time. Andy Fastow was the Chief Financial Officer of Enron Corp. from 1998 – 2001. In 2004, he pled guilty to two counts of securities fraud, and was sentenced to six years in federal prison.

The event will be streamed world-wide for unlimited participants. We will also offer the opportunity for limited participants to come and watch the live stream on-set at Hannes Snellman’s office and to join a post survey mingle afterwards. The seats will be reserved in the order of registration.

Forensic Risk Alliance, as the main sponsor of the Nordic Business Ethics Survey, is co-hosting the event.

Anna and Niina will share the key results of the Nordic Business Ethics Survey. In the 2020 survey edition we ask from 4.000 employees and leaders working in Nordic organizations how they perceive ethics at work: What are the most common ethical issues observed at work? What are the biggest barriers for speaking up on ethical concerns? How many feel pressured to make ethical compromises in working life and why?

Andy Fastow
Former Enron CFO
Despite today’s more regulated and enlightened business environment, we continue to witness “Enron-esque” failures of corporate governance. Enron’s former CFO will make observations about how the ambiguity and complexity of laws and regulations breeds opportunity for problematic decisions and will discuss what questions corporate directors, management, attorneys, and accountants should ask in order to ensure that their companies not only follow the rules, but uphold the principles behind them.
